Early site acquisition advice, input into preliminary transaction stages, including expressions of interest, requests for proposals, and requests for design proposals; support for evaluation panels, both as a panel member and as a subject-matter expert.

I was one of the advisers for Auckland Light Rail Limited on the first stage of its programme. This work covered site investigations, initial strategic acquisition advice, the range of tools available for land acquisition (including those requiring expanded statutory powers), and advice on interactions with utility operators and Māori land issues.

As with many large infrastructure and urban renewal projects, this work required close collaboration with a wide group of advisers. I regularly work with planners, valuers, resource management specialists, and other technical experts to ensure cohesive, practical advice for project sponsors.
